Foster PowerMax Mobile Power Center MPC-285 Generator And Air Compressor Trailer. Available today for your consideration we are offering for sale a mobile generator and air compressor combo professionally built on the trailer and enclosure that you see by Foster. This is the Foster PowerMax Mobile Power Center MPC-285 I have and of course will include with this unit the certificate of origin (basically a title or proof of ownership for equipment) Also included is the key for the locks on the box doors.
For a little history on this unit. This unit was hand made in 2002 by Foster/Foster Trailers strictly on a made to order basis. Their units were made on a per order basis to the customer specs.
Their customer base was Government, Municipality's, Ems, Fire Departments, Police Departments, large construction companies, etc. The unit has 2 power reels by Hannay Reels that extend out 150 feet. If you are not familiar you can pull out the extension cord line 150 feet and to wind it back up all you do is push the button and it winds it back up for you. The same goes for the air line reel.
On the extension cord line there is a metal box that houses 4 Hubbell 110v/120v receptacles and one 20A 250V Hubbell Twist Lock. Located on the enclosure there are an additional 4 Hubbell 110v/120v receptacles bringing the total of those 110v/120v receptacles to 8. Also on the front there is a 30A 220v Hubbell receptacle and 2 more 20A 250v Hubbell twist lock receptacles. So to recap the totals.20A 250V total of 3. 30A 220V total of 1. 12 total receptacles on the unit. Fuel is easily added on the top of the unit and inside of the tunnel box there is a sight window so that you can see how much fuel you have on board. The first storage box or tunnel box goes from one end to the other in a straight through design.
There is also another separate storage area located in this area located on the right side of the machine (right side if you are standing in the front of it). Now to the business end of things. The rear of the machine houses the generator, air compressor and large electric fan to keep everything cool. Most all of that is located on the left side with another very deep storage on the other side which is separated from the engine compartment. The power for this unit comes from a Kohler Command Pro 13.
On the rear of the unit there is a tall directional light bar that is operated from a Signal Master control box made by Federal Signal. This directional light bar is easily removed by unplugging one electrical connection and 2 bolts.
It was made to be removable if height is ever a problem but if you are working on the road this light bar is very nice to have as you can do different things with the lights. The machine easily hooks up to your vehicle with a 2" ball and pulls very nicely on the 14" aluminum wheels with Good Year tires. It's a heavy unit. So it doesn't sway on the highway. I have used this several times to power an entire house when I was in the house flipping business and it does it with no problem. Now this machine has been sitting for some time. Ever since I got it I didn't use it very much.
So as of right now it will need your mechanical touch and it currently does not start. I do not think that this is any major issue at all. You may need to drain the fuel and replace with new fuel again I'm not sure. You might have to mess around with the wiring a little bit but again I'm not sure. You will just have to go over this machine basically top to bottom before you can use it but again it's just a cheap fix that has to be found. Please ask any and all questions that you have. Please see my other auctions for more deals! At this price this unit will not WILL NOT LAST LONG AT ALL!
